MANCHESTER
AVENUE TREE PROJECT
The treescape for the avenue was developed with
the assistance of the Los Angeles Department
of Public Works, Bureau of Street Services.
In the medians, the Podocarpus gracilar tree
will be planted. Gingko biloba and Spathodia
undulate tree have been selected for planting
in the sidewalk areas.
This project has been in process for several
years.
SEPULVEDA BOULEVARD
This tree-planting project is on the west side
of Sepulveda Boulevard in the residential section
and extends from Manchester Avenue to Howard
Hughes Parkway. It requires replacing all Ficus
trees whose roots, which have made the sidewalks
un-usable. The new tree program will alternate
the two species of trees that were specified
in the Sepulveda Boulevard beautification project.
They are the Tabebula impeteginosa tree that
has pink flowers and the Koelreuteria bipinnata
that has yellow flowers that turn into a golden
color.
As part of the project, the sidewalks will be
repaired and/or replaced. The project is entering
the design phase and construction will begin
next year.
Your contribution will help beautify these two
areas of our community.
