January
7, 2010 - Bill Rosendahl celebrated the completion
of the Westchester Street Project.
Gathering on the corner of 89th and Sepulveda, officials
of the City of Los Angeles led by Councilmember Bill
Rosendahl, 11th District, hosted today a news conference.
The $8.9-million project stretches along Sepulveda
Boulevard between Lincoln Boulevard and Howard Hughes
Parkway.
Since summer 2007, the Department of Public Works
improved sidewalks, medians, street lights, added
shrubs and 193 new trees, built a storm drain and
catch basins and widened the boulevard to allow for
3 full-time lanes in each direction plus street parking.
This project has been a collaboration of the Council
office, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation
and the Westchester Streetscape Improvement Association
for ten years, from design concept through construction.
