Ballet Beyond Borders

Ballet Beyond Borders (BBB), a global festival that fuses education, diplomacy and creativity amongst artists across cultural and geographic lines through diverse genres of dance, is coming to Westchester.

This immersive experience celebrates dance, culture, and connection by creating opportunities for artists and audiences to come together through performances, classes, and creative exchange. BBB highlights emerging voices, cross-cultural collaboration, and the incredible talent within the local dance community.

While dancers from around the world take master classes and compete during the three-day event, the community is invited to a variety of events happening on and around the Loyola Marymount University campus:

Community Cultural Celebration

4 p.m. on Thursday, August 6

at The Book Jewel (Westchester Triangle)

A vibrant outdoor global marketplace celebrating cuisine and live BBB performance activities, including cultural displays from Pakistan, Native American artists, Cuba, China and more. Elements include textiles, jewelry, visual art, artisan crafts, and interactive craft stations for families as well as live music, short dance performances, fashion presentation, community classes and demonstrations, cultural photo booth, food vendors.

Ballet Beyond Borders Diplomacy Conference

6 p.m. on Friday, August 7

at Featherston Hall 120 Auditorium

Life Science Building, LMU campus

A thought-leadership gathering featuring speakers from the worlds of dance, arts leadership, cultural policy, international exchange. Talks will be interspersed with live performance creating a dynamic format that blends intellectual engagement with artistic expression. The conference positions BBB Los Angeles as not only a performance event, but a platform for meaningful dialogue around the role of the arts in global connection.

Ballet Beyond Borders Gala

6 p.m. on Saturday, August 8

on the Drollinger Stage at LMU

Featuring international guest artists; emerging global choreographers; a strong emphasis on California-based performers and cross-cultural collaborations.
